Building resilient communities and healthcare workforces in Caribbean SIDS
Simone Charles’s global health focus centers on workforce empowerment and community resilience while addressing the health and healthcare impacts—especially of non-communicable diseases—related to climate change in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the Caribbean. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center’s themes of strengthening systems for health, addressing social and environmental determinants of health, and developing technical solutions. Charles’s work and research drive initiatives for the empowerment of healthcare workers and communities, advancing adaptation and health outcomes in Caribbean SIDS impacted by climate change.
