John Piette, PhD, MS

Chronic illness management through mobile technology

John Piette’s global work focuses on ongoing projects on mobile health and chronic illness care in Latin America. His interests in global health equity align with the Center themes of strengthening systems for health and providing technical solutions. Piette is a global leader in innovation for chronic disease self-management support among patients with a variety of chronic conditions. His projects emphasize improvements in care for socioeconomically vulnerable people in the US and Latin America. Other research interests include peer interventions and informal caregiver support, telehealth, behavior change, health communication, and access to care.
