Systems strengthening for eye care

Joshua Ehrlich’s global work focuses on research collaborations, capacity building, and strengthening eye care delivery systems with the aim of eliminating avoidable blindness. His interests in global health equity align with the Center themes of strengthening systems for health, addressing social and environmental determinants of health, and providing technical solutions. Ehrlich works with global partners to understand and address the adverse consequences of vision impairment and blindness on health and wellbeing in older adults. And he works with several large population-based surveys to develop and implement measures of sensory health and function to study the role of sensory function on health outcomes and aging. His global work is based principally in India and East Africa.
