Natural hazard preparedness and community health equity
Megan Czerwinski's global work focuses on community health and resilience to natural hazards, guided by frameworks of environmental justice and collaborative design. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center's themes of strengthening systems for health and addressing environmental determinants of health. Czerwinski's research investigates wildfire smoke preparedness among older adults requiring long-term care, initially focusing on preparedness strategies in the Western United States. She aims to expand this research globally, collaborating with vulnerable communities in low- and middle-income countries to address health impacts equitably.
