Cheryl Moyer, PhD, MPH
Cheryl Moyer’s global work focuses on social and cultural factors that impact maternal, newborn, infant and child morbidity and mortality in low-resource settings. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center themes of empowering women and communities, addressing social and environmental determinants of health, and providing technical solutions. Moyer's research explores factors associated with health service utilization among newborns and women in sub-Saharan Africa. She was the lead investigator on a project in northern Ghana that conducted social autopsies to explore maternal and neonatal deaths and uses GIS technology to map the location of deaths and near misses against clinical, social, demographic, and cultural determinants.
