Gary Harper, PhD, MPH, MS

Mental health promotion and HIV prevention
Gary Harper’s global health work focuses on HIV prevention and mental health promotion for LGBTQ+ people and communities. His interests in global health equity align with the Center theme of addressing social and environmental determinants of health. Harper’s research uses a community health approach to develop HIV prevention and treatment programs and mental health programs. His global research focuses primarily on projects supporting LGBTQ+ communities and peoples. Harper partners with community agencies members to collaboratively develop and evaluate culturally and developmentally appropriate health promotion programs.
