Alicia Ventresca-Miller's global work examines the health of prehistoric and historic populations to inform contemporary health policy and support local communities in achieving their health goals. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center's themes of strengthening health systems and addressing environmental determinants of health. Ventresca-Miller's research explores dietary intake and anthropogenic landscape alterations in historical populations, focusing on the evolution of the oral microbiome and the influence of human-animal interactions on microbial communities.
