Heidi Hausermann's work focuses on the socio-economic and environmental impacts of small-scale gold mining in Ghana and coffee farming in Veracruz, Mexico. Her research interests align with global health equity and the social and environmental determinants of health. Hausermann employs diverse methods, from remote sensing to community-based approaches, to explore issues such as malaria incidence and adaptive farming practices. She also examines the political-economic drivers of landscape change and their health implications for local communities.
