Sexual and reproductive health, policy, and health systems strengthening

Brigitte Irankunda’s global health focus centers on advancing equitable access to high-quality healthcare through research, policy, and health systems strengthening, with particular interest in sexual and reproductive health and the needs of underserved populations. She is committed to generating evidence and supporting interventions that improve health outcomes in Rwanda and similar settings. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center’s themes of empowering women, strengthening systems for health, and addressing social and environmental determinants of health. Irankunda’s research explores the intersection of sexual and reproductive health, policy, and healthcare delivery, aiming to improve equitable access to high-quality care. Through evidence-based research, she seeks to inform policies and practices that strengthen health systems and improve outcomes for underserved populations.
