Exploring fertility and climate relationships in vulnerable regions
Isabel Brooks's global health focus examines how social determinants of fertility, such as birth timing and contraceptive use, are impacted by climate change, particularly through changes in average temperature and rainfall. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center's themes of empowering women and addressing social and environmental determinants of health. Her research explores these dynamics in low-income, rural, agricultural, and climate-vulnerable settings, with a focus expanding from West Africa to most of sub-Saharan Africa and Nepal.
