Jennie Jester, PhD

Mental health, violence, and quantitative evaluation of community interventions

Jennie Jester’s global health focus centers on mental health—including anxiety and depression—and how these conditions relate to experiences of violence. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center’s themes of empowering women, strengthening systems for health, and addressing social and environmental determinants of health. Jester’s research includes quantitative evaluation of a collaborative program in Nairobi assessing the effects of healing circles and financial literacy support for mothers, with the goal of improving well-being and reducing harms associated with violence.
