Ecosystem sustainability and conservation for freshwater environments
Karen Alofs’s global work focuses on sustainability of ecosystems in order to address conservation concerns in freshwater environments. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center themes of addressing social and environmental determinants of health and creating technical solutions. Alofs's research examines the impacts of environmental stressors such as climate change, invasive species, and habitat degradation on freshwater biodiversity and fisheries.
