
Joseph Myers, OD
Joseph Myers’s global work focuses on providing access to healthcare to those who are underserved as well providing healthcare solutions in disaster relief. His interests in global health equity align with the Center's themes of strengthening systems for health and developing technical solutions for health equity. Myers collaborated with U-M faculty and the Jamaican Ministry of Health as part of the University of Michigan Urban Collaboratory project in Sandy Bay, Jamaica, where they enhanced public health through prototype health clinics. Myers also co-founded the Eye Health Institute that serves the eye-care needs of residents in Hanover Parish. He is part of the university’s Third Century Initiative, researching and providing advanced health care to underserved populations around the world.
