Behavioral, neurological, and psychiatric diseases
Margit Burmeister’s global work focuses on identifying genes linked to behavioral and neurological and psychiatric diseases. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center themes of empowering women and communities, addressing social and environmental determinants of health, and creating technical solutions. Burmeister’s research aims to identify genetic causes of rare neurological disorders. She investigates medical residency stress as an environmental factor precipitating depression.
