Amina Abubakar, PhD

Amina Abubakar's global work focuses on data science driven solutions for global health research, specifically in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center's themes of empowering women and communities and addressing social and environmental determinants of health. She is currently working on a data science project with a University of Michigan colleague of hers titled Utilize health Information for Meaningful impact in East Africa through Data Science (UZIMA). Additionally, her research interests include quantifying the neurocognitive burden of early childhood diseases, developing culturally appropriate psychological measures for use in SSA, and identifying culturally appropriate intervention strategies for at-risk children in SSA.
