Maternal and Infant Mental Health & Trauma

Cecilia Martinez-Torteya's global work focuses on enhancing maternal-infant mental health and addressing the intergenerational transmission of trauma, particularly within Latinx communities. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center's themes of empowering women and addressing environmental determinants of health. Martinez-Torteya's research examines mental and behavioral health, focusing on mood disorders, stress, coping mechanisms, intergenerational risk transmission, and resilience, with particular attention to perinatal depression and anxiety.
