Psychological and contextual determinants of child and adolescent health
Cristina Bares’s global work focuses on child and adolescent behavioral health. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center theme of addressing social and environmental determinants of health. Bares’s research uses multiple methodologies to examine the biological, psychological, and contextual determinants of child and adolescent health. Her work examines interactions which facilitate adaptive and maladaptive behavior. She also investigates genetically mediated risk factors leading to problems of anxiety, depression, and substance use in adolescence.
