Innovating treatments for kidney injury and malaria

H. David Humes’s global health focus centers on developing new treatments for severe malaria and acute kidney injury, including sepsis-related acute kidney injury. His interests in global health equity align with the Center’s themes of strengthening systems for health, addressing social and environmental determinants of health, and developing technical solutions. Humes’s research focuses on improving global kidney health through technology and interventions aimed at reducing mortality from acute kidney injury and preventing chronic kidney disease.
