Injury prevention, violence, research capacity training

Douglas Wiebe's global work focuses on building injury prevention and care capacity in Botswana. His research interests in health equity align with the Center’s themes of addressing social and environmental determinants of health, and strengthening systems for health. He has also served as the principal investigator (PI) of a D43 training program funded by the Fogarty International Center at NIH to build research capacity in Botswana. He continues to work with faculty and trainees in Botswana and is hosting a UMAPS Scholars from Botswana at the University of Michigan
