Infant and child health
Gwenyth Lee’s global work focuses on the intersection of infectious disease and nutrition, primarily among children living in resource-limited settings in the Global South. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center theme of addressing social and environmental determinants of health for vulnerable populations. Lee has conducted studies to investigate how environmental and dietary factors impact the development of the microbiome among children in Ecuador and is also interested in understanding how nutritional and infectious comorbidities co-occur in populations because of underlying social conditions, especially during periods of rapid socio-ecological change.
