Feminist anthropology, participatory research, sexual and gender minorities

Heather Tucker is an Impact Scholar with the Center whose global work focuses on feminist ethnography and participatory research with persons with diverse sexual orientation, gender identities and expressions and sex characteristics (SOGIESC) in sub-Saharan Africa. Tucker has a strong interest in intersectional data and social equity in public health. Her research interests in health equity align with the Center’s themes of creating impact with communities in low- and middle-income countries and addressing social and environmental determinants of health in under resourced populations. As an Impact Scholar, Tucker is working on feminist participatory research projects in Kenya.
