Jordan Bateisibwa Abaine’s global work focuses on empowering those in resource-limited settings to know and claim their rights and to access education in order to reduce the unequal burden of disease on poor communities. His interests in global health equity align with the Center’s themes of empowering women, strengthening systems for health, social and environmental determinants of health, and developing technical solutions for health equity. Bateisibwa has worked closely with CGHE to establish a partnership between the Center and Progressive Health Partnership, a nonprofit organization based in Uganda that works to eliminate the burden of disease on the global poor.
