Multilevel analysis, social determinants, cancer disparities

Kevin Martinez-Folgar’s global health focus incorporates multilevel thinking—from countries and cities to neighborhoods and individuals—when examining social effects on health outcomes. His research interests in health equity align with the Center’s themes of addressing social and environmental determinants of health, strengthening systems for health, and developing technical solutions. Martinez-Folgar’s research studies the social effects on cancer outcomes, with a primary emphasis on childhood cancer, and examines how these social factors shape observed health disparities.
