Kristi Gamarel, PhD, EdM

LGBTQ+, HIV, mental health, CBPR methods

Kristi Gamarel's global work focuses on utilizing community-based participatory research to address health inequities among LGBTQ+ communities, especially with regards to HIV, mental health, substance, use, and healthcare access. Her research interests in health equity align with the Center’s themes of addressing social and environmental determinants of health, and empowering women. She is also a founding member of the "Love Her Collective," which is a community-academic partnership with the Trans Sistas of Color Project.
