Melissa Elafros, PhD, MD

Neurologic care for resource-limited populations

Melissa Elafros’s global work focuses on reducing the burden of neurological diseases and improving access to quality neurologic care for resource-limited populations via epidemiologic, clinical, and health services research. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center themes of strengthening systems for health and empowering women and communities. Additionally, she has worked in Zambia, since 2009, examining barriers to care for neuroinfectious diseases and people with epilepsy.
