Reducing maternal and infant mortality through global partnerships

Miatta Buxton’s global health focus is on maternal health and child health, emphasizing the disparities in maternal and infant mortality rates in low- and middle-income countries compared to high-income countries. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center’s themes of strengthening systems for health, addressing social and environmental determinants of health, and developing technical solutions. Buxton’s research in maternal and child health includes collaborative projects in Mexico and new initiatives in Kenya, focused on laying the groundwork for future studies that address mortality disparities.
