María José Baeza, PhD
María José Baeza’s global health focus is on intimate partner violence (IPV), specifically examining how women seek help and access support, with attention to the cultural, institutional, and systemic factors that influence access to care. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center’s themes of empowering women, addressing social and environmental determinants of health, and strengthening systems for health. Baeza’s research spans sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and immigrant communities in the U.S., advancing global health equity by generating evidence to build culturally and contextually grounded, survivor-centered interventions that improve access to care and promote healing for women. She is a former Impact Scholar of the Center for Global Health Equity.
