Odessa Gonzalez Benson, PhD

Refugee resettlement, participatory approaches to urban governance and refugee social services, state-civil society relations

Odessa Gonzalez Benson's global work focuses on the intersections of migration and displacement (migrant/refugees and informal settlers) and issues of grassroots community organizations, social services and advocacy, digital services, climate change, and housing and urban studies—most recently in Uganda and the Manila area of the Philippines. Her research interests in health equity align with the Center's themes of empowering women, strengthening systems of health, and technical solutions. She is committed to advocating for refugee communities through critical policy research.
