Patricia Hurn, PhD, MN

Gendered differences in brain injury and strokes

Patricia Hurn’s global work focuses on both cellular and molecular basis of gendered differences in brain injury. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center theme of empowering women and communities. Hurn’s research examines strokes and other neurological conditions using a gendered lens. She directs an interdisciplinary research laboratory that conducts biomedical research and applies findings to point-of-care patient applications and works to promote women’s leadership in global health research.
