The impacts of and political mitigation strategies for health crises

Pauline Jones’s global work focuses on understanding the varied effects of and mitigation strategies for health crises, especially pandemics, on populations within and across countries. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center themes of empowering women and communities and addressing social and environmental determinants of health. Jones’s research explores and evaluates the role of government policy—including communication and delivery strategies—in mitigating the effect of health crises. Her work also examines the influence of religion on political attitudes and behavior in Muslim majority states with an emphasis on the relationship between religious regulation, religiosity, and political mobilization.
