Robin Petroze's global work focuses on surgical education and expanding access to surgical care worldwide. Her research interests in health equity align with the Center’s themes of addressing social and environmental determinants of health, empowering women, and strengthening systems for health. Specifically, Petroze investigates issues around neonatal surgical conditions and postoperative nutrition, hospital-acquired sepsis, gastroschisis, trauma and injury recovery, and pediatric solid tumors (including Wilms tumor). She serves as the Vice Chair for Global Surgery in the Department of Surgery.
