Srinath Reddy, MD, MD, MSc

Strengthening health systems, cardiovascular health

Srinath Reddy is a member of the Center’s External Advisory Board. He is the founder, past president, and Honorary Distinguished Professor of Public Health at the Public Health Foundation of India, Public Health Advisor to the Governments of Odisha, Punjab, Haryana and Andhra Pradesh, and Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. His global work focuses on the advancement of multidisciplinary public health education, research, health technologies and implementation support for strengthening health systems. His research looks at preventive cardiology, cardiovascular health, tobacco control, appropriate nutrition across the life course, chronic disease prevention and healthy living across the lifespan.

Previously, he headed the Department of Cardiology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, was the first Bernard Lown Visiting Professor of Cardiovascular Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and was President of the World Heart Federation. He served as physician to two Prime Ministers of India. Reddy served in various advisory capacities for the University of Michigan and collaborates with faculty in the School of Public Health on initiatives related to India.
