Richard Auchus, MD, PhD

Clinical and translational science, with a particular focus on hypertension

Richard Auchus’s global work focuses on basic science and clinical/translational science, with a particular focus on hypertension. His interests in global health equity align with the Center themes of strengthening systems for health and addressing social and environmental determinants of health. Auchus is a steroid biologist with expertise both in basic science and clinical/translational science. His work has included translational research on genetic mechanisms of hypertension and aims to improve diagnostic studies and management for aldosteronism. He is director of the Metabolism, Endocrinology, and Diabetes Fellowship Program.
