Investigating environmental risk factors in GI cancer

Sonja Dawsey's global work focuses on investigating the environmental risk factors for esophageal and other gastrointestinal cancers in high-incidence regions of Sub-Saharan Africa. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center's themes of strengthening health systems and developing technical solutions. Dawsey's research examines the prevalence and impact of environmental factors, such as dietary habits and chemical exposures.
