Sylvia Akpene Takyi, PhD

Sylvia Akpene Takyi is an impact scholar with the Center. Her global work focuses on environmental epidemiology, with interests in the impact of air pollution on metabolic health and how nutrition can help ameliorate adverse outcomes in resource-poor settings. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center's themes of addressing social and environmental determinants of health and empowering women and communities. Takyi's methods include laboratory metal analyses and exposure assessments. As an impact scholar, Takyi's work will look at mitigating toxic exposures in e-waste communities in Ghana.
