Sinophone medicines
Yi-Li Wu’s global work focuses on sinophone medicines—healing practices historically developed from classical Chinese medicine. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center themes of empowering women and communities and addressing social and environmental determinants of health. Her research on culture and the body in late imperial China have examined breast cancer, bone setting, medical iconography, and the circulation of Chinese medicine in Korea.
