Development economics, health impact analysis

Hang Yu's global work uses field experiments and econometric methods to understand health outcomes in Sub-Saharan Africa and China. His research interests in health equity align with the Center’s theme of addressing social and environmental determinants of health, strengthening systems for health, developing technical solutions, and empowering women. Hang has studied household behavior in coping with the HIV/AIDS pandemic, human resource management of health workers, education of medical students, the health consequences of natural disasters, and the impact of international aid on the health of vulnerable communities.
