Development economics and political economy

Yusuf Neggers’s global work focuses on the intersection of development economics and political economy, with a focus on state capacity and the delivery of public services. His interests in global health equity align with the Center themes of empowering women and communities, addressing social and environmental determinants of health, and providing technical solutions. Neggers’s research studies the influence of internet technology on contestable government procurement of goods and services in developing countries and the impacts of religious and caste identity on voting outcomes in Indian elections.
