Kerri A. Pratt, PhD
Kerri A. Pratt's global health focus includes expertise in identifying air pollution sources and addressing their impacts on health equity. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center's themes of strengthening systems for health, addressing social and environmental determinants of health, and developing technical solutions. Pratt's research laboratory specializes in field-based chemical measurements of atmospheric gases and aerosols, including air toxics. The Pratt Lab's real-time mass spectrometry measurements of individual aerosol particles and ultratrace reactive gases enable identification of air pollution sources, even far from their emission locations. Her internationally renowned research in Arctic and wintertime atmospheric chemistry has earned numerous honors, including the 2025 Fulbright Award to Australia and the 2024 National Brown Investigator Award. She serves on the scientific steering committee of the International Global Atmospheric Chemistry (IGAC) Project, which engages scientists and society worldwide to advance atmospheric chemistry research for a sustainable world. For example, Professor Pratt recently presented research at the GEIA (Global Emissions Initiative) Conference in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, and she is enthusiastic about collaborating with scientists worldwide on air quality and climate change topics involving the atmosphere.
