Big data and prediction analytics, social and environmental determinants of health in determining health and disease

Rajiv Saran’s global work focuses on public health surveillance and prevention of all stages of chronic kidney disease, now a widespread worldwide problem and rising in LMICs. His interests in global health equity align with the Center themes of addressing social and environmental determinants of health and providing community-centered technical solutions. Saran aims to prioritize prevention and efforts toward healthy aging as an equity imperative. He is interested in unraveling social and environmental determinants of health as they relate to understanding inequities, primordial prevention, risk prediction, and improving outcomes of chronic diseases through multi-sectoral and multidisciplinary partnerships between health systems, the public health enterprise, communities and policy makers.
