Computational approaches, data science, and machine learning

Ulysses Balis’s global work focuses on the intersection of computational approaches and the practice of medicine. His interest in global health equity aligns with the Center’s themes of strengthening health systems and designing technical solutions for health equity. Balis’s research examines how data science and machine learning can improve remote diagnostic services provided by anatomic pathology and clinical lab medicine centers, aiming to reduce health disparities in low- and middle-income contexts.
