Designing for Impact in Global Health

Agriculture and nutrition in South India

With Kathleen Sienko, Paul Clyde, Rockefeller Oteng, Kentaro Toyama, Grace Burleson, Jesse Austin-Breneman, and David Green

March 24, 2021

How might engineering, medicine, business, and other disciplines partner in resource-limited settings to identify and solve health challenges through innovative design?

Systems designed in and for high-resource settings don’t always translate in other parts of the world. The Designing for Impact in Global Health Challenge Group aims to reduce morbidity and mortality through the development of scalable models that strengthen the commercialization and implementation of global health technology. With:

  • Kathleen Sienko, College of Engineering
  • Paul Clyde, William Davidson Institute
  • Rockefeller Oteng, Michigan Medicine
  • Kentaro Toyama, School of Information
  • Grace Burleson, College of Engineering
  • Jesse Austin-Breneman, College of Engineering
  • David Green, Social Entrepreneur
