Sara Adar, ScD, MHS

Exposure to pollution and health outcomes
Sara Adar’s global work focuses on exposures to both outdoor and indoor air pollution and associated health outcomes among older adults. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center theme of addressing social and environmental determinants of health. Adar’s work on the human health implications of air pollution have an emphasis on identifying intervention strategies to decrease harmful exposure and improve health. She has contributed to the development of National Ambient Air Quality Standards and served as an expert panelist for both the Environmental Protection Agency and World Health Organization.
