Graduate Student Summer Research Internship and Training Program in Global Health Equity

This paid research internship and training program offers a practical, mentored research experience combined with the Center’s unique professional training program for U-M graduate students.

Participating students explore global health equity from diverse perspectives and build a foundation for further work in this rapidly expanding field of research and professional practice. Student interns participate in structured training and professional development programming that complements the work faculty mentors assign them.

How It Works. Become part of the Center for Global Health Equity’s multidisciplinary community of experts engaged in projects that address critical challenges in global health equity. Our paid summer graduate student research internship and training program offers a practical, mentored research experience combined with CGHE’s unique professional training program. Participating students will explore global health equity from diverse perspectives and build a foundation for further work in this rapidly expanding field of research and professional practice.

Eligibility. This program is open to U-M graduate students in any discipline, including master’s, doctoral, and other professional degree programs. This program is based at the U-M Ann Arbor campus. Students will need to be available 20 hours per week from May 29–August 9, 2024.

Faculty Mentor Application Information

The Center invites all U-M faculty to mentor a graduate student in the Center's Graduate Student Summer Research Internship and Training Program.

Faculty are invited to submit a global health equity research project for which they seek a U-M graduate student research intern to work 20 hours/week over a 10-week period in summer 2024. Faculty mentors receive research support from a dedicated graduate student whose stipend is paid by CGHE.

Faculty may propose a project for which they seek to be matched with a student or may identify student interns in advance and propose a faculty-student pair. U-M graduate students in any discipline are eligible to participate.
