Amy Pienta, PhD, MA

Population health and aging in rapidly changing contexts

Amy Pienta’s global work focuses on the demography of aging and retirement and health in later life, including a large research project that focuses on building data infrastructure to study HIV populations throughout the world. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center theme of addressing social and environment determinants of health. Pienta’s current research focuses on couples’ retirement behavior and uncovering social processes that lead to underlying health disparities among African Americans.
