Elizabeth King, PhD, MPH

she/her/hers
Women’s health, gender equity in health prevention services, and HIV

Elizabeth King’s global work focuses broadly on HIV testing and treatment policies and the influence of global policies and funding on local public health initiatives using a gendered lens. Her interests in global health equity align with the Center themes of empowering women and communities and strengthening systems for health. King’s research examines health services in order to ensure equitable access, with a particular focus on HIV prevention and treatment, sexual and reproductive health services, and substance use programs. Further, she studies social processes, such as gender norms and stigma, that marginalize populations from accessing healthcare services.
